on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

The purpose of life is to live.

Ah, but how?

As an animal running after hungers and fleeing from all it fears? Consuming pleasure, killing pain and being forever angry at the injustice of suffering.
As men lost in the dark and unable to see. Perhaps losing sight of grace and forgiveness through adherence to Law. Perhaps they know reason, but not unconditional love.

The purpose of life is to live.
How?
The mother of the Christ knew love unconditionally, as does virtually every mother who nurtures and protects her children.

Though the temptation of worldly things be great, humans can be like the divine, as they are made in His image. Not an easy road? Ask a mother if her children were worth all the effort.

Thanks mom
